Synod offering recipient announced
As is customary, congregations are invited to contribute to the General Synod offering. The recipient of the 2021 offering will be the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea, a partner church of the LCANZ.
Delegates invited to Information and Practice sessions
Two two-part Information and Practice Sessions are being offered to delegates and consultants to help them prepare to fully participate in the online sessions of General Synod, 1-2 October.

Delegates prepare for first online General Synod
Almost all eligible entities (LCANZ parishes and governing bodies) have nominated the delegates who will represent them for the three-year synodical term. So far, however, only about one-half of them have registered to attend.
General Synod in two parts
Taking into account the extraordinary circumstances relating to COVID-19, the General Church Board has unanimously agreed to hold the 20th regular Convention of General Synod in two parts: online in 2021 and in-person in 2022.
Delegates back electronic Synod meeting option
The LCANZ’s General Synod will be able to meet electronically should this be necessary in future, following the approval of changes to the church’s bylaws via a postal ballot by 2018 Synod delegates.
